This week we conducted 2 labs. The Cookie Mining Lab and the Plate Tectonics Lab are due Friday, December 4th.

The Soil Labs this week are meant to be background research for the "Full Value" Soil Lab. This is also exposure to the methods available to study soils. If you would like to study soils from home, you need to bring a sandwich baggie of soil on Tuesday.
Your Full Value Lab will take place on Wednesday with the write-up DUE on Monday 12/14. I encourage students to submit a draft for feedback before turning in the final draft on Monday.

Your Quizzam will be on Wednesday this week. The FRQ will be on Thursday. The documentary we watched, Virunga. Does have a website with a wealth of information and ways to support the National Park in the Congo.
One option that students in colleges around the country are doing is advocating their schools to divest their money from SOCO. SOCO is a common company that firms will invest in because it is profitable in the markets. However, in investing in the company, you are supporting their efforts. While researching this I did discover that my retirement plan also invests in SOCO.
